Happy New Year 2025 from the Sabah Landscapes Programme!
As we look ahead, were proud to reflect on 2024. Guided by our Living Landscape Approach, we collaborated with partners across government, industry, NGOs, communities and more, to protect biodiversity, promote sustainable agriculture, and restore ecosystems in Sabah.
2024 Highlights include:
UAV and Deep Learning methods for orangutan monitoring, and classification of Bornean elephants as an Endangered subspecies by IUCN.
Currently 1,369 ha of degraded forest replanted with 110,824 native tree species, moving closer to reaching the target of 1,500 ha fully restored by December 2025.
Supporting RSPO-certified smallholders and medium-sized growers while inspiring others to adopt sustainable practices.
Enhancing policy, spatial planning, social development and community outreach for a sustainable Sabah.
Lets continue to safeguard nature, support sustainability, and drive restoration in 2025 and beyond.
