Celebrating Community Action for a Sustainable Semporna

The Semporna District Office, Semporna Islands Project, and WWF-Malaysia have co-launched the Semporna Community Action Learning Exchange. This programme brought together nine communities, nine government agencies, other NGOs and corporate partners to help build a sustainable future.

Funded by the European Union, the event resulted in the officialisation of our Community Action Group by the Semporna District Office across nine island communities addressing anti-fish bombing, plastic pollution, and ocean farming. The group aimed to protect Sempornas marine ecosystems and support sustainable livelihoods for future generations. This action group also aligned with the government's goals to pave the way for lasting impactful change.

Together, were committed to making Semporna a shining example of environmental resilience and community-driven conservation!
