Rangers and communities play a vital role in protecting Sabahs wildlife!
The recent Guardian of Wildlife: Community and Ranger Conservation Day event highlighted the shared responsibility of rangers and local communities in protecting Sabahs biodiversity. The day was filled with activities to strengthen collaboration, raise awareness of wildlife protection laws and poaching threats, and promote sustainable practices.
Participants shared real-world conservation experiences from various parts of Sabah through interactive sessions. Meanwhile, practical demonstrations and educational booths allowed participants and visitors to learn more about wildlife protection efforts, wildlife monitoring tools, rescue methods, and more!
WWF-Malaysia thanks everyone involved in the event, especially the Sabah Wildlife Department, for its immense support. We also extend our appreciation to participating and contributing organisations, including the departments Wildlife Rescue Unit and the NGOs Earthworm Foundation, Danau Girang Field Centre, and Seratu Aatai.
