This is an ongoing project at Sri Bintang, Sri Sinar. With the permission from the house owner to park the enclosure beside the house to get the dogs used to eating inside.
After two days, they went in and ate. We let them eat and let them go, making them think that its safe to go in. Dogs and cats are all about routine, with a little training, we can almost make them do whatever ( maybe not cats ) we want them to do. The catch will be on this coming Monday if youd like to volunteer yourself.
An important PSA we would like to announce to all the stray feeders out there, as you can see from the video, the feeder put the food on plastic sheets and clear them after the feed. This is to maintain cleanliness and hygiene on the feeding ground to prevent birds ( mainly crows ), rodents and other small animals from coming to the area. This is one of the main reasons residents lodge complaints on strays to local councils resulted in the death of the strays.
We understand, your intention is honourable but an irresponsible feeding as such would do more harm than good to the strays.
Beside cleaning, try to feed at a spot where it is away from the public eye, we wouldnt want to attract unnecessary attentions that might trigger complaints. We hope this helps. Thank you.
