The Asia-Pacific Centre For Environmental Law Apce..
20th May 2025, ACRES
The Asia-Pacific Centre for Environmental Law (APCEL) was a true champion for animals today.

Anbarasi (Anbu) Boopal, our former Co-CEO took the stage earlier this afternoon to inspire and empower law students and policymakers in strengthening animal protection in Singapore.

She addressed key issues, from the use of biased language in animal-related stories (such as labeling crows as aggressive rather than defensive), to the lack of regulatory framework for animals in food industy, the urgent need for humane and equitable standards in animal culling, and the consequences of inadequate deterrence in sentencing, which risk eroding public trust in the law.

Thank you to APCEL, and to all the participants who took time out of their busy schedules and are committed to advancing the animal welfare movement in Singapore.
