They are not intruders they are the original residents of our community.
Is it that society abandoned them?
Or have we simply forgotten that they were once, just like us, part of this neighborhood?
One day in March, a pregnant ginger cat quietly slipped into a home and gave birth to six kittens in a quiet corner of the entryway. The homeowner, a cat lover, was not alarmed. Instead of driving them away, the family gently cared for the feline visitors, offering them a temporary safe haven.
As the six kittens grew and started eating on their own, the kind-hearted family began seeking adopters for them, and also planned a neutering surgery for the mother. Unfortunately, their compassion was soon met with hostility.
A neighbor at the back someone with extreme disdain for cats began a wave of complaints, hurling water, shouting curses late at night. Even the kittens soft mews were treated as crimes.
Eventually, after repeated reports, the city council arrived for enforcement. In the chaos, the ginger mother and several kittens were caught and loaded onto the council's lorry. One kitten escaped in terror only to vanish without a trace.
The family pleaded desperately with the officers. Thankfully, the city council agreed to release the cats back to them on the condition that they must all be removed by that very evening, or enforcement would return.
That night, the missing kitten was found, shivering in fear.
But the family could no longer cope. They turned to us for help.
Recognizing the urgency, we took in the ginger cat mother and her six babies. They will soon receive vaccinations and be neutered so they may step into a safer, more secure future.
