23rd Jun 2025, SPCA Singapore

On 29th March 2025, the SPCA received a troubling report about a kitten allegedly being abused at a workers canteen in Tech Park Crescent. According to the informant, a colleague of the suspected abuser, the kitten had been placed inside a plastic container and rolled around repeatedly on the night of 26th March, between 9.45pm and 10.30pm. The disturbing incident may have been captured by CCTV cameras in the area. The site supervisor was reportedly aware of the situation.

An unannounced inspection was carried out on 1st April. When the SPCA's Inspectors visited the premises, they were informed that the cat had since been released, as it was a community animal, and that a stern warning had been issued to the worker involved. However, the manager declined to show any CCTV footage or facilitate further investigation, prompting the SPCA to refer the matter to the Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS) for follow-up.

See something? Say something.
This case, like so many others, would have gone undetected if not for someone who chose to speak up. You can make that choice and be that difference too. If you witness abuse or neglect, even if you are unsure, it is always better to report it. Your voice might be the only one an animal has.

If you suspect cruelty or witness harm, heres what you can do:
Take photos or videos of the incident if it is safe to do so
Note the location, time, and people involved
Report it immediately to the SPCA or AVS
