A major milestone for smallholders on their journey towards sustainable palm oil.18 smallholders who achieved the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certification in June 2025 have now begun receiving additional income from RSPO credit sales, while accessing better market opportunities and improving their livelihoods.

Through the cooperative model adopted by Koperasi Lestari Penanam Sawit Sabah Berhad (KLASS), smallholders were able to share certification costs, strengthen their capacity, and support one another in meeting RSPO standards. This shared effort not only improves livelihoods but also supports the adoption of sustainable practices that contribute to healthier ecosystems and more resilient landscapes.

During a ceremony held on 22 April 2026, they officially received their certificates alongside their premium payments, recognising both their hard work in achieving certification and the tangible benefits that come with it.
