Today, we go deeper into Lolas history and understanding more about the exotic pet trade.

Did you see how much Lola has grown from 2014 to 2026Its been 12 years and weve seen Lola grow from being palm sized to the size that he is now!

Unfortunately, his backstory of how he ended up in ACRES is less than ideal. Lola is a victim of the exotic pet trade.

From taking these animals from their native habitat, to forcing them through extreme stress due to the way theyre squeezed and stuffed into luggages and bags the whole process of bringing an animal to Singapore is inhumane and cruel.

Taken from the wild and being kept in captivity inhibits their ability to express their normal behaviour. Due to their complex needs, most of these animals are abandoned with no ability to fend for themselves.

At our sanctuary at ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre (AWRC), we house over 100 animals rescued from the illegal wildlife trade and your help in this matters more than you think!
