The goal was never endless shelter intake.
Because no matter how large a shelter becomes, there will never be enough space to solve abandonment alone.
Long-term change begins long before animals arrive at shelters. It begins with responsible pet ownership, sterilisation, proper supervision, education, and communities understanding that animal welfare is a shared responsibility.
Rescue is important.
But prevention matters too.
A more compassionate community is built when fewer animals are abandoned, fewer litters are left unmanaged, and more people choose long-term responsibility over temporary compassion.
Compassion is a collective effort.
