We had the privilege to attend the first ever Social Media Animal Cruelty Coalition (SMACC) Global Summit earlier in June 2026! A huge shoutout to the organisers at Asia for Animals Coalition and Sintesia Animalia Indonesia for organising this educational event.

It was so nice meeting and getting to know people from other organisations and learning about how theyre managing animal cruelty content circulating online as well!

As an organisation that strives to protect all animals, it was interesting to hear from different organisations on the issues they face regarding animal cruelty on social media as well as the increased usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how that has been contributing to animal cruelty online.

We do think animal cruelty on social media is an issue that Singaporeans need to have more awareness of with the adverse psychological effects of viewing animal violence on social media on people, especially children.
