About The Pet
Merlin was discovered in a mamak stall waiting patiently for food scraps from customers, but was receiving none. I noticed that he had sores on his hind legs and forelimbs and was limping. Later I consulted a vet and was informed that he could have sporo. Rather than to leave him at the mamak stall to infect other cats, I went back to rescue him and brought him to the vet for treatment.

Due to no fault of his own, Merlin was confirmed to have sporo infections and also tested positive for FIV (Feline immunodeficiency virus), which makes him highly vulnerable to contracting sporo. He was also starving and dehydrated and full of fleas.

The vet has treated his flea infected body and Merlin is now deflead, dewormed, vaccinated and neutered. However he will need to be treated for his sporo. He is now in foster care until his sporo condition is healed, and then he will be put up for adoption and rehomed.

Looking at him, Merlin was once a handsome boy with a majestic black coat of fur. He has beautiful green eyes, and is extremely affectionate. He did not fight me when I caught him; he answers to any call for him and is very gentle. I suspect he was an abandoned case and it is unfortunate that this beautiful male cat was left to degenerate into a starving, flea-infested, and now diseased cat.

He desperately needs to be treated so he can heal and transform back into his beautiful self and find a forever loving family who will never judge him or abandon him.

FIV only transmits through mating (but Merlin is neutered) or fighting that results in deep puncture wounds (but Merlin's a lover, not a fighter), so it's perfectly safe for Merlin to live in a household with a FIV negative cat, as long as everyone is sterilized and integrated properly. Or better yet, as a solo cat with his very own loving pawrents.

Merlin has been given a very short end of the stick in his life, but he has never given up hope or faith in his love for humans, and I am determined to give him the best quality of life that he deserves..

Please help me help Merlin recover and live the rest of his life fully with so much love and care. He will return that love a millionfold. Don't judge him now at his darkest moments. See him as he really is and will be: A beautiful, affectionate, loving and gentle cat whose green eyes are mesmerising, whose black coat is shiny and silky, and whose heart and capacity for love for and from hoomans is unconditional.

His vet bills are over rm800 so any kind contributions to help me defray this cost is gratefully accepted. Thank you in advance for your generous donations.

Thank you for considering him!
