About The Pet
[For Adoption] Dorian the Shihpoo was abandoned in a box by the road on June 9, 2022. He barked for help. A kind lady rescued him and handed him over to us to foster. She sponsored part of his medical expenses.

When Dorian was rescued, he had matted fur and lots of nasal discharge sticking to his face until his eyes are covered by sticky fur. He had eye infection and ear infection. He was severely underweight and toppled over when he tried to walk. We were shocked at the level of mistreatment and negligence by his former owner - whoever they may be.

He was shaved and sent to vet for full blood test, tick fever test, heartworm test, x-ray and deworming. He is mostly blind and deaf. He was only 3.2kg. Blood test results show he is malnourished.

He had fragile skin and the skin over his spine broke and was filled with pus. He was shivering in fear whenever a human is near and took him 2 weeks to stop shivering next to human.

He was treated, cared for, given good diet, medication and supplements. Two months later, he has done his teeth scaling and extracted two rotten teeth.

In Sep 2022, he has healed. He can walk well. He has gained weight and is now 3.7kg. Although he can't see well and can't hear, he enjoys his meal and typically sleep most of the time.

He has dry eyes which require eye drop twice a day. As he was probably locked up his entire life, he isn't toilet trained. We have a crate (with top section removed) for him, layered with non slip mat and disposable wee wee pad which we change twice a day.

He is gentle, minds his own business, and not bothered with dogs or anyone. Chances of him being adopted is really low. We will foster him as long as we can. We cannot continue to hoard more dogs, if he can find a suitable home.

If you can find it in your heart to care for a senior dog, please write to us to answer the following questions:

1. Do you have experience handling dogs?
2. Is your whole family supportive of the adoption? (Please discuss and seek agreement before approaching us)
3. How much time can you spend with him daily?
4. Are you financially stable to support his future medical bill (if any)?
5. Are you agreeable to initial house visit and to send updates (photos/ videos) to us every now and then?

We shall offer free boarding for Dorian at our place, if adopter needs to board him. There is no adoption fee for him. We (along with his supporters) have spent approximately RM 2,000 on his medical bill previously.

Request for PM and those who do not answer the questions above shall be ignored. Thank you so much for choosing to adopt a senior dog.
