Choco and Cheche were rescued from some flats in Puchong because they were in danger. They were both born in that area and grew up together with feeders and other residents looking out for their wellbeing.

Unfortunately, some newer residents took a dislike towards Choco and used to taunt him. Because of that, he barked at them. They used this as an excuse to get rid of him. They got together and beat him on his legs, body and face, put him in a sack, and threw him in another area about 2 or 3 km away.

But Choco is so smart, the poor boy limped his way back to his home. When they saw that he came back, they warned the feeders that they would kill him and throw him somewhere farther away.

This is when the feeders decided to post for help on Facebook. A rescuer responded and went with a team that night and got both of them out of there.

Choco was treated for some cuts and bruises on his body, and thankfully his leg wasn't fractured but just sore from the beating. Since then, Choco and Cheche have been treated for heartworm, spayed and neutered and vaccinated. They are ready for a home, together would be best or separately is fine too. They have been moved around from boarding to shelters with no luck yet. It would be wonderful for them if they could find patient, responsible and loving owners who could provide a safe space for them to live their lives peacefully.

Choco
Choco especially needs a bit of management due to the trauma from the abuse. He is skittish if approached from behind and may turn to snap, and does not like to be touched on the legs. He loves pats on the head and will come to you for sayang. But if we approach him, do it from the front and in a calm manner. Sudden movements may still trigger him, unless he has totally trusted the new environment and people he is with. He does not like to be caged or tied. He likes to be indoors at certain times too. But mostly he loves his freedom to move freely in a garden.

Cheche
Cheche is the easiest dog in a sense that she actually doesn't bark at all. She is timid due to witnessing the abuse Choco went through. Because she was always with him, she would cower in a corner while Choco was being beaten. Because of that, she has developed a general sense of timidness and she will just hang out in her safe corner quietly. She is a good dog indoors or outdoors.

Choco loves going for walks. Cheche still hasn't grown into the idea of walking on a leash without major coaxing, and even then just for a short while.

Their future home should have a big enough space for them to roam freely cage free and not tied unless really needed for short periods. The gate has to be secure and strong. Choco and Cheche will both grab the chance to run out and roam the area because that was how their life was before at the flats. That is why responsible and patient owners who understand dogs with past trauma is of the utmost importance here. Once they have grown into their new homes, they are easy to manage and will be your companions for life.
