Every great superhero has a great origin story.

Little Tempe Pup was found at the side of a beach road near Cherating, Pahang. A family of otters was frolicking in the river nearby. She was skinny and flea-bitten but alive. Had she been raised by otters?

More probably she had been dumped by her cruel first owners. But who would want to dump such an adorable pup? She has the softest fluffiest ears which are too big for her body, big brown eyes that are always looking for your approval, a lucky stripe on her face, and a warm furry active puppy body that is growing stronger and more confident by the day.

We took Tempe to the vet for her first vaccination, de-fleaing and deworming. She passed her vet inspection with flying colours, except that she is too thin. She is now thriving on a diet of puppy food, and is quickly learning a lot about life. So far she has met: cats, big dogs, lots of people, fishponds, furniture, toads, monkeys, and the noise of chainsaws and pressure cleaners. She is respectful of other animals, and socializes easily with people.

Tempe has been sleeping inside at night, and she is learning to use potty pads for occasional wees. She sleeps well in and out of her crate, and can entertain herself for hours with her range of chew toys. At the moment, she is exploring the world using her teeth (the vet says she already has her adult teeth) so make sure you always have a chew-toy at the ready! But she is responding well to training, remembers reprimands, and listens to commands. She loves to play, and has a lot of energy to run about, but also needs to sleep for several hours during the day.

So far Tempe has been a very quiet puppy. She does whine when she feels lost and abandoned, but she reacts quickly to reassurance. We have only heard her bark once; she is not a yappy dog.

We have decided we cannot keep her because our pack of dogs has a fragile dynamic, and we have previously had difficulty safely incorporating female dogs.

Tempe is free to a good home who will reward all the love and devotion she has to give. We prefer anyone with a history of keeping dogs, because she will need an experienced but gentle hand to guide her through puppyhood. We also ask that adopters commit to getting her neutered; we are happy to pay for the vet fees for neutering when the time comes.

We will provide a plastic carrying crate, 4 chew toys, harness and lead, and starter dry puppy food. We are happy to transport her anywhere within the Klang Valley.

Please contact us if you would like this little furry superhero to make your house a home, or if you need any more info.
