Paru looks happy here but she was not always this lighthearted.

In March 2026, Paru, a stray dog, was out and about in Balakong, a place she considered to be her safe home probably looking for a morsel to eat when she was hit by a motorcycle and left by the roadside.

A kind stray dog feeder witnessed the accident and took her to the vet. She had a badly injured right foreleg with the skin completely stripped off. It was a painful sight to behold and surely more painful still for poor Paru to endure! Fortunately, there was no fracture. The vet was concerned about ligament damage and cautious about her recovery. He admitted her for cage rest, dressings and antibiotics and told us that she may eventually require surgery if she did progress to use her leg.

From roaming freely to being caged up, from being comfortable to experiencing constant pain, Paru remained a vision of serenity throughout - no anger, no resentment, no fear. She endured every painful dressing change with grace day in and day out until the wound healed completely. 3 weeks later she started to tentatively bear weight on the injured leg and we were both joyous and relieved in equal measure! *Phew* She would not require surgery after all and instead she was discharged for physiotheraphy.

She is also otherwise healthy, vaccinated and neutered.

Currently, Paru is being fostered and now that she is no longer concerned with survival, she is mastering the art of manipulating people. So far, she has succeeded in training us to provide belly rubs on demand. She gets along great with kids and other dogs and often initiates playtime. However, she can be territorial around food but is slowly learning to share which has surprised us. Also, she seems to have toilet trained herself and when indoors, she will walk to the door to alert us that she needs to be let out to relieve herself.

Paru would do well in a home either with a doting owner or another dog for company, preferably both! Please WA me for a meet and greet, serious enquiries only.
